As a writing tutor, I share my decades of literary practice to help others find, shape and tell their stories in their own unique voices.
‘Katie Munnik is an excellent storyteller. Her stories are flesh and blood … opening up new insights and perspectives.’
– Donald Smith, Director, the Scottish International Storytelling Festival
I teach at Cardiff University through the Institute for Flexible Lifelong Learning.
It is important to me to be responsive to what each cohort of students’ needs – be it genre guidance, craft questions, or strategies for stamina and inspiration. I bring my own curiosity into every class as well as my years of literary experience and work to create a safe and encouraging space where together we can really tackle the work of writing – and rewriting – our novels.
I have lectured and held seminars and workshops in various other universities and schools, as well as in other community spaces and at literary festivals. There is something magic that happens when people gather to talk about stories, and I love creating spaces where that happens.
I also tutor privately. If you have a writing project that needs a fresh pair of eyes, please get in touch to discuss possibilities.
